"Pulsar" was written for Réz Körút, a Brass Septet based in Hungary.

This piece  is about Pulsars in space, which by definition emit jets of radiation at a consistent rate. I’ve always been fascinated by space, so I really enjoyed exploring the process of writing this piece.

The first movement titled “glorious wonder” (csodálat) is about what I feel when I peer up into the sky. The vastness of our universe, filled with stars and planets and other cosmic entities. I would describe it as an immense admiration, or awe inspired wonder. Something that is so beyond oneself, it's almost comforting being such a small part of such a large cosmos. So the music reflects this, it’s vast and broad, laced with reflection and wonder.

The second movement is titled "Pelagic Suspension" (sóvárgó mélység). Pelagic refers to the depth of the ocean. I get the same feeling when I think about the depths of our oceans and the depth of space. So I’m using pelagic to describe the deep sea of space. This movement is more about jets of radiation, you will hear more frantic gestures, which come and go quickly- interjections."
